Symbolic Ice Cream

I felt like being popular this evening
so I brought home some symbolic ice cream.

I displayed this treat
to the smiling girls. I said:

This may look
like an everyday pint of Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie
but it is so much more. It is
the love and goodwill that flows through this apartment
made manifest and corporeal. It is
for you.

The cream was smooth and the girls consumed it,
for they had recently menstruated.

Considering that everything I do is so simple, I thought,
life is awfully difficult.

And then
it hit me: Heaven

is a house full of women
and a broken heart.
